Design Engineer

Job Description

Our client is a close knit team of Engineers, Designers and Fabricators, and has developed a varied and exciting customer base within Art, Entertainment, Events and Architectural markets with a prestigious client base and frequent international projects.

They are looking to enhance their team with a 3D Design Engineer. Utilising Inventor and AutoCAD software, you will be helping to support the technical team with design and drawing skills and will also be involved in other aspects of managing projects, which typically require fast turnaround and are interesting and fun to work on!

Ideally you will have a couple of years’ experience within a design engineering, art fabrication, set building or product design environment and have a good understanding of manufacturing or fabrication techniques and materials.

Due to the fast paced nature of some of the projects, ideally you will have previous experience of 3D modelling and production of fabrication drawings. You will be tasked with independently taking on projects that you will need to time manage effectively, whilst self-prioritising a sometimes heavy workload.

The CAD Engineer Key Skills –
Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD.
Effective and confident communication, both written and verbal, as you will have direct contact with Clients.
Excellent English and Maths.

Desirable skills –
3Ds max CG rendering.
Adobe Illustrator / Adobe suite.
Hands-on engineering / fabrication experience.

A degree in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous, but is not essential. What they would love to see, and learn more about, are your hobbies and interests and would be looking for you to show an aptitude for, and an enthusiastic approach to, design.

You will be joining a small team and working in a friendly and rewarding environment and will become a key member of the ‘company family’.

Salary is subject to experience, but within the range of £25k – £30k pa.
