BIM Manager


Job Description

Our client are a multi-disciplined engineering practise with a passion for excellence, innovation and environmental sustainability.

They’re looking for an experienced BIM Manager and Technician to join their structural engineering team to provide support on single and multi-disciplined projects for the public and private sectors. Typical projects range in value from GBP £0.5-30.0m and are extremely varied in type, scope and complexity.

The Role:
The BIM Manager will provide support to the Director responsible for BIM, on the deployment of the planning, strategy and BIM implementation within the company and to provide daily BIM management duties of the overall processes & procedures. The BIM Manager will be required to undertake the role of BIM Technician to deliver project models.

The successful candidate will be expected to have above average IT skills, extensive REVIT experience and have the ability to “drive” the model during meetings. Consequently, good written and verbal communication skills are required as the BIM Manager will be expected to work collaboratively with all members of the project team. The ability to work with initiative and to operate across multiple project teams and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is expected. The role will require visits to site from time to time and provide support to our other offices.

Primary duties:
Coaching and Development: establish and maintain BIM standards, procedures, processes and training material under the direction of the BIM Director. Conduct training with BIM Technicians to grow skills for effective use of REVIT and design software and ensure correct adoption & implementation of BIM standards and procedures.

Project Template Set-up: Liaise with all project team collaborators to set up projects from scratch within company or agreed project BIM standards, making early decisions or agreements on how to break-up the models and distribute them based on design and project team needs, geographical location and collaboration requirements and brief the company project team accordingly.

Model Management: Provide BIM/REVIT design and drawing support on a project-by-project basis. Rotate through projects to police standards, to ensure that modelling is done properly and effectively. Assist as BIM Technician on projects when required to do so. Fluency in REVIT is critical to ensure interoperability between the project team and models and to effectively communicate critical information to other project team members.

Package:
Salary expectation is negotiable dependent upon experience and is located in Peterborough or Higham Ferrers – final office nase being based confirmed on applicant location.
