At their offices based in Cambridgeshire, they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. 

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager your primary responsibility will be to provide safe, efficient and cost effect design solutions for materials handling products and projects.

Required skills:

An understanding of capital mechanical equipment essential, some knowledge of hydraulics and electrical equipment would be an advantage
An ability to produce detailed structural design calculations -  both manually and using computer aided tools
An ability to produce engineering design solutions using both 3D and 2D design tools
A knowledge of steel fabrication and welding processes
A knowledge of machined components and processes
A knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
Effective communication skills, both written and spoken
Good computer skills
Comfortable working either independently or part of a team
The confidence and capability to handle difficult situations and to problem solve where necessary

Qualifications/ experience:

Chartered engineer
Relevant good engineering degree
Structural design experience
Capital machinery industry experience required
Inventor 3D CAD
RStab, Klio, Baan desirable

Salary 

£45,000 per annum — subject to experience
