Design Engineer required for our Client - a leading provider of custom-designed and manufactured subsea power cables, umbilical systems and marine cables for a broad range of applications. This short-term contract is expected to run for 3-4 weeks although it may be extended for additional projects. Immediate start. The role demands an experienced mechanical design engineer proficient in the use of Inventor 2010, from both a modelling and production drawing / detailing perspective. The position requires the design of umbilical cable solutions that meet customer requirements, which includes all umbilical and terminations for products supplied by the Company. Basic stress / design calculations will form part of the job role. This position demands high levels of accuracy, which is necessary in all design output. An ability to self — check own work is essential and to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel whilst being happy to work alone or as part of a small team. Experience in mechanical engineering essential with a strong capability using Inventor 2010. ONC / HNC minimum qualification. High levels of accuracy are necessary in all design output. Checking of individual produced work is to be made by the Design Engineer. Checking and approval, subject to competence, is also expected as part of the Design Engineers daily activities. Interested?
